BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Approval to create, post and fill one (1) Secretary Position.
BACKGROUND:
The Immunization Department currently oversees 52 Vaccine For Children (VFC) providers, provides numerous immunization outlying clinics throughout the year to Genesee County residents and provides immunization services at the Burton location. This new position is part of a phased re-organization of the Health Department to improve operations and services.
DISCUSSION:
The secretary position will help to ensure patients are registered in the electronic medical record. This position will allow for expanding our outlying community vaccine clinics, and provide additional clerical coverage. The Secretary will also monitor and manage the document management portal for incoming messages, approvals, denials, and other correspondence.
IMPACT ON HUMAN RESOURCES:
Any necessary steps to create, post and fill new position.
IMPACT ON BUDGET:
This position would be funded from 2210.602.02-702.00, subject to budget amendment.
IMPACT ON FACILITIES:
There is no impact on facilities.
IMPACT ON TECHNOLOGY:
Any necessary steps for a new County employee.

BE IT RESOLVED, by this Board of Commissioners of Genesee County, Michigan that the request by the Medical Health Officer to authorize creating, posting, and filling one (1) Secretary position to be funded from account 2210-602.02-702.00 and related fringe benefits is approved (a copy of the memorandum request and supporting documents being on file with the January 17, 2024 meeting of the Finance Committee of this Board).
