recommendation

BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Staff is recommending approval of the contract extension and fund transfer request from Genesee Township’s 2025 Public Facility Improvements project to their 2025 Senior Center Operations project and requesting Genesee County Board Chairperson, Dale K. Weighill to sign the contract amendment.

BACKGROUND:
The Genesee Township Board approved a request to move $1,057.50 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds from their 2025 Public Facility Improvements project to their 2025 Senior Center Operations project. The project included the purchase and installation of a dishwasher at the Eastside Senior Center. These funds are being transferred because the Township completed the project with funds remaining.

The funds will be transferred to the 2025 Senior Center Operations project which will assist with funding wages, bills, and other supplies related to the operation of the local senior center. The total budget for 2025 Senior Center Operations will be $14,407.50. The Township has also requested a contract extension from September 30, 2026 to November 30, 2026.

The requested transfer is shown below.
