recommendation

BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Recommending approval of a contract extension for Genesee County Water and Waste’s ARPA funded Otisville Wastewater Treatment Plant Project (1010-640.02-899.029) and for an authorized signature on the contract amendment and Purchase Order Amendment.  The new contract completion date will be December 1st, 2026.

BACKGROUND:
The Village of Otisville has requested an extension for their Otisville Wastewater Treatment Plant Project. Additional time is needed to finish the project due to state approval delays and material procurement.

DISCUSSION:
Genesee County Water and Waste Services has worked extensively with the Village and Rowe Engineering on this project. The project has been bid out, a contractor has been selected, and material ordered.

IMPACT ON HUMAN RESOURCES:
This project has no impact on human resources.

IMPACT ON BUDGET:
This project is funded by Genesee County American Rescue Plan Act funding. This project has no impact on the general fund.

IMPACT ON FACILITIES:
This project has no impact on facilities.

IMPACT ON TECHNOLOGY:
This project has no impact on technology.

CONFORMITY TO COUNTY PRIORITIES:
This project conforms to the county goal of Healthy, Livable, and Safe Communities. Waste water treatment and sewer lagoons are an important piece of infrastructure for any livable community. Bringing Otisville’s lagoons up to date with current regulations improves service delivery and the longevity of the system.
