BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Approval of authorizing additional purchases with selected vendor CMP Distributor’s, Inc. for the remainder of the FY25-26 in an amount not to exceed an estimated (additional) $45,000.00 to be paid from respective divisions’ uniform accounts across the Sheriff Office. Purchases would be subject to divisions having the available budget.
BACKGROUND:
CMP Distributors, Inc. provides the ballistic vests agreed upon in the current collective bargaining agreement. (attached with Reso request)
DISCUSSION:
Per Purchasing, the current aggregate spend or encumbrance with this vendor is $41,020.00. Employees are eligible for replacement vests every 5 years upon initial issuance.

Purchases would be subject to divisions having the available budget. Affected impact would be on the Uniforms Supplies budgets within the Office of the Sheriff.

TO THE HONORABLE CHAIRPERSON AND MEMBERS OF THE GENESEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS, GENESEE COUNTY, MICHIGAN
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN:
BE IT RESOLVED, by this Board of County Commissioners of Genesee County, Michigan, that the request by the Office of Genesee County Sheriff to authorize an expenditure, in the form of Purchase Orders to CMP Distributors, Inc., to purchase additional as-needed ballistic vests and related external carriers, at a cost not to exceed an additional $45,000.00 to be paid from various division uniform accounts for the remaining FY25-26, is approved (a copy of the memorandum request and supporting documents being on file with the official records of the March 11, 2026 meeting of the Finance Committee of this Board).
