BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Genesee County Parks and Recreation staff requests the approval of a second amendment to the contract with Sorenson Gross Company LLC for an increase to the total contract amount, for a total contract amount not to exceed $5,161,346.42.
BACKGROUND:
Genesee County executed the contract, per RES-2022-857, whereby Sorenson Gross Company LLC would provide site and building construction for three service buildings at Wolverine Campground, including development of fifty new campsites.
An amendment was executed, per RES-2023-324, increasing the total contract amount by $74,731.20 to cover the road cut and drainage to the new road leading back to the new campsites and for a sanitary sewer line height adjustment. $53,544.20 of this amount was refunded to the Parks Commission by ROWE Professional Services to assist with the sewer line adjustments.
DISCUSSION:
This request is a for a second amendment to increase the total contract amount from $5,146,731.20 to $5,161,346.42, an increase of $14,615.22 to install a 2-inch water supply line to the new building at Wolverine Campground and add domestic water piping in buildings E and F to feed campsites with water.

TO THE HONORABLE CHAIRPERSON AND MEMBERS OF THE GENESEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS, GENESEE COUNTY, MICHIGAN
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN:
BE IT RESOLVED, by this Board of County Commissioners of Genesee County, Michigan, that the request by the Parks and Recreation Director to authorize approving a second amendment to the contract between Genesee County and Sorenson Gross Company LLC, previously awarded by RES-2022-857 and amended by RES-2023-324, said second amendment being necessary to increase the contract amount by $14,615.22, for a total contract amount not to exceed $5,161,346.42, and for the installation of a 2-inch water supply line and domestic water piping in buildings E and F at Wolverine Campground, to be paid from account 2080-770.05-974.000, is approved (a copy of the memorandum request and supporting documents being on file with the official records of the February 21, 2024 meeting of the Public Works Committee of this Board), and the Chairperson of this Board is authorized to execute said second amendment on behalf of Genesee County.
