BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
The Office of the Genesee County Sheriff is requesting approval for a FY 25/26 purchase order for Aramark for annual food and commissary services to the inmates housed at the Genesee County Jail in the amount of $925,000.00 as has been approved from budget line item 1010-351.00-762.000. (Budget approval through Fiscal*)
BACKGROUND:
Aramark was previously approved to provide these services in May 2025 via Res-2025-1732; with contractual approval and provision through June 30, 2026
DISCUSSION:
**Due to the current Contract approval for services between Genesee County and Aramark continuing through June 30, 2026, the request will be for the blanket PO for 10/1/2025-6/30/2026, pending any additional approval of services that extend through the FY-end of 9/30/2026 which will be re-visited later in the fiscal year. **

This request conforms to both the Healthy, Livable & Safe Communities by utilizing a vendor who promotes public health to create safer and healthier residents (of the Jail*) along with Long-term Financial Stability addressing legacy costs with a plan that values people while creating savings.

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN:
BE IT RESOLVED, by this Board of County Commissioners of Genesee County, Michigan, that the request by the Office of Genesee County Sheriff to authorize an expenditure, in the form of purchase order, to Aramark to provide food and commissary services to inmates housed in the jail, at a cost not to exceed $925,000.00 to be paid from account 1010-351.00-762.000, for the period commencing October 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026, is approved (a copy of the memorandum request and supporting documents being on file with the official records of the September 17, 2025 meeting of the Finance Committee of this Board).
