BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
The Genesee County Community Action Resource Department (GCCARD) requests authorization from this committee for the addition of $22,000.00 to purchase order (PO) #23-04904, for a new grand total not to exceed $62,000.00, with a recommendation of approval by the full Genesee County Board of Commissioners at their next regularly scheduled meeting.
BACKGROUND:
The addition of $22,000.00 is being requested for Genesee Packaging, Inc. PO #23-04904 approved via RES-2023-822, and shall be added to fund numbers 2757-697.30-801.002 and 2759-697.30-801.002.
DISCUSSION:
This PO, approved via RES-2023-822, is utilized by GCCARD’s USDA Supplemental Food program for the provision of supplemental food boxes to eligible seniors monthly through the Commodities Supplemental Food Program and individuals and families facing a food crisis quarterly through The Emergency Food Assistance Program.
IMPACT ON HUMAN RESOURCES:
There will be no impact on Human Resources.
IMPACT ON BUDGET:
A total of $22,000.00 will be added to PO #23-04904 with $11,000.00 to be designated for fund number 2757-697.30-801.002 and $11,000.00 for fund number 2759-697.30-801.002, with a new grand total not to exceed $62,000.00. A budget amendment is attached. No General Fund appropriation is being requested.
IMPACT ON FACILITIES:
There will be no impact on facilities.
IMPACT ON TECHNOLOGY:
There will be no impact on technology.

This memorandum conforms to Genesee County’s priority of Long Term Financial Stability by ensuring that GCCARD funds are expended efficiently and accurately, and Healthy, Livable, and Safe Communities by ensuring that Genesee County residents are provided with healthy ingredients to create nutritious meals for themselves and their families.

TO THE HONORABLE CHAIRPERSON AND MEMBERS OF THE GENESEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS, GENESEE COUNTY, MICHIGAN
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN:
BE IT RESOLVED, by this Board of County Commissioners of Genesee County, Michigan, that the request by the Director of the Genesee County Community Action Resource Department (GCCARD) to authorize amending PO #23-04904, previously approved via RES-2023-822, with the addition of $22,000.00, specifically $11,000.00 to fund number 2757-697.30-801.002 and $11,000.00 to fund number 2759-697.30-801.002, for an amended amount not to exceed $62,000.00, said amendments being detailed in the memorandum request and necessary for the continued provision of the GCCARD USDA Supplemental Food program, is approved (a copy of the memorandum request and supporting documents being on file with the official records of the August 14, 2024 meeting of the Human Services Committee of this Board), and the Chief Financial Officer is directed to record the attached budget amendment.
