RE: Approval of an increase in aggregate spending for Jack Doheny Co (now known as Rentix Solutions) for FY2026-2027
recommendation
BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Seeking approval of an increase in aggregate spending for Jack Doheny Co (now known as Rentix Solutions) for FY2026-2027 for parts, repairs, and/or rental of maintenance equipment., in the amount not to exceed $80,000.00, to provide parts, repairs to drain equipment, and rental of maintenance equipment when necessary. The costs will be funded from the accounts listed.
BACKGROUND:
Our equipment in the maintenance department periodically requires parts, service repairs, and/or rental of maintenance equipment. Some work/rental is sole source provider vendor. Based on increased aggregate spending with this vendor in the past couple of years, we seek the Board’s authorization for an increase in aggregate spending up to $80,000.00 to pay for any future invoices for parts, service, and/or rental of maintenance equipment in FY2026-27. These invoices will be funded out of the following accounts: 6390-443.00-779.000 Vehicle Supplies, 6390-443.00-931.000 Equipment Repairs, and 6390-443.00-939.000 Rental Equipment.
DISCUSSION:
To be able to perform maintenance on our Storm Drains and alleviate flooding to make it safe for the Community we need to have our maintenance equipment working properly. When the equipment isn’t working properly, we need to get it repaired in a timely manner to keep our crew working.
IMPACT ON HUMAN RESOURCES:
There is no impact on Human Resources.
IMPACT ON BUDGET:
The money to maintain our equipment comer from Fund 6390 Drain Equipment from accounts: 6390-443.00-779.000 Vehicle Supplies, 6390-443.00-931.000 Equipment Repairs, and 6390-443.00-939.000 Rental Equipment, not General Fund. These expenses are included in the current budget for FY2026-2027 and no amendments are needed.
IMPACT ON FACILITIES:
This request would not have any impact on facilities.
IMPACT ON TECHNOLOGY:
This request would not have any impact on technology.
CONFORMITY TO COUNTY PRIORITIES:
Having well-functioning equipment will allow staff to perform necessary work to support healthy, livable, and safe communities
