BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Approval to accept the Michigan Medical Marihuana Operation and Oversight (MOOG) grant from the Department of Licensing and Regulatory affairs. Funding in the amount of $118,123.00 has been provided to the Genesee County Health Department. We request that the funds be accepted and placed into funding account 2210-630.00-558.000 to be utilized for program services from November 11, 2025, through September 1, 2026.
BACKGROUND:
The Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) provides grant funding to deliver education, communication and outreach regarding the Michigan Marihuana Act to the Genesee County community.
DISCUSSION:
Grant funding from LARA provides support, such as education and supplies, that work to reduce poor health outcomes related to marihuana use. The Genesee County Health Department Health uses various risk reduction methods and techniques to inform the community on the Michigan Marihuana Act. MOOG funding is valid from November 11, 2025, through September 1, 2026. No county appropriation is needed.
IMPACT ON HUMAN RESOURCES:
There is no expected impact on Human Resources.
IMPACT ON BUDGET:
Current budget includes estimated MOOG funding. A budget amendment is attached to adjust the budget to the final grant award.
IMPACT ON FACILITIES:
There is no expected impact on facilities.
IMPACT ON TECHNOLOGY:
There is no expected impact on technology.
