BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Approval of a contract between Genesee County and Genesee Intermediate School District (GISD), in the amount of $1,060,150.00 to provide for three school resource officers.
BACKGROUND:
This contract with the Genesee County Sheriff's Office will provides three School Resource Officers for three years. This contract will provide one Genesee County Sheriff's Deputy, who is a Certified Police Officer, one Genesee County K9 Deputy who is certified and one Sergeant, who is a Certified Police Officer to act as the Resource Officer for GISD. The cost of such services is estimated to be and intended not to exceed $1,060,150.00 for the period of October 1, 2023, to September 30, 2026, with the option to extend the contract for up to three additional one-year terms. (See Exhibit A attached.) The Genesee County Sheriff's Office currently provides this service.
