TO THE HONORABLE CHAIRPERSON AND MEMBERS OF THE GENESEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS, GENESEE COUNTY, MICHIGAN
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN:
WHEREAS, Jason Aaron Atkins-Lawson, Jr. submitted a Freedom of Information Act (“FOIA”) request to the Genesee County FOIA Specialist asking for records (1) related to his OWI incarceration and (2) related to any surveillance, monitoring, or investigations involving him; and
WHEREAS, the request for those records was granted in part, whereby he was given the only record that related to his incarceration, and denied in part on the basis that no other records exist; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Atkins-Lawon, Jr. has appealed the denial of his request.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that this Board of County Commissioners of Genesee County, Michigan, hereby denies Mr. Atkins-Lawson, Jr.’s appeal of his FOIA request denial, upholds the disclosure denial, dismisses the appeal, and directs that Mr. Atkins-Lawson receive written notice of this Board’s determination regarding his appeal.
