RE: Michigan Association of Planning 2023 Conference Travel Request

BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Staff is requesting approval to send three staff persons to the Michigan Association of Planning 2023 Conference.
BACKGROUND:
The Michigan Association of Planning will be hosting their annual conference in Acme, MI from October 4th-6th. The conference will be hosted at the Grand Traverse Resort and will highlight current topics in planning and provide innovative solutions to local challenges.
DISCUSSION:
This request was approved by the Genesee County Metropolitan Planning Commission at its July 11, 2023, meeting.

TO THE HONORABLE CHAIRPERSON AND MEMBERS OF THE GENESEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS, GENESEE COUNTY, MICHIGAN
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN:
BE IT RESOLVED, by this Board of Commissioners of Genesee County, Michigan, that the request by the Director of Planning to authorize travel and overnight lodging for 3 staff members to attend the Michigan Association of Planning 2023 Conference in Acme, Michigan, October 4-6, 2023, at a total cost of $3,329.00 to be paid from accounts 2320-701.00-910.005, 2320-701.00-913.001, and 2320-701.00-913.001, is approved (a copy of the memorandum request dated September 6, 2023, and supporting documents being on file with the official records of the September 6, 2023, meeting of the Community and Economic Development Committee of this Board).
