BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
The Genesee County Community Action Resource Department (GCCARD) requests authorization from this committee to accept an agreement between GCCARD and the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) for the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) for fiscal year (FY) 2024 with a recommendation of approval by the full Genesee County Board of Commissioners at their next regularly scheduled meeting.
BACKGROUND:
GCCARD's Commodity Distribution program received notification from the MDE to act as sub distributor of United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) foods for the CSFP to eligible Genesee County residents.
DISCUSSION:
CSFP provides supplemental shelf stable foods to qualifying seniors ages 60 and over. The period of this agreement covers October 01, 2023, through September 30, 2024.

No General Fund dollars are being requested.
