BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Genesee County Parks and Recreation staff request approval to accept grant 2026-14553 from the C.S. Mott Foundation for capital improvements in the City of Flint Parks, in the amount of $1,333,700.00.
BACKGROUND:
As part of the C.S. Mott Foundation's 100-year Focus on Flint program, Genesee County Parks is partnering with C.S. Mott to help address capital needs in the City of Flint Parks.
DISCUSSION:
Acceptance of Grant 2026-14553 for $1,333,700.00 will address capital needs in the City of Flint Parks. Projects were selected with input from Adopt-a-Park partners and the City of Flint using a needs assessment. This grant continues the work Genesee County Parks/Keep Genesee County Beautiful has in the transformation of public spaces in the City of Flint. Projects are spread out amongst all wards and are part of a larger $20 million commitment that the C.S. Mott Foundation has made to improve public spaces in the City of Flint. Projects are identified in nine City of Flint Parks and range from safety features to sports and recreational improvements.
