RE: Circuit Court Elevator Modernization (Historic Side)

BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Approval of Genesee County Courthouse Modernization Proposal for 2 Historic Side Elevators.
BACKGROUND:
The (2) existing historic courthouse elevators were last updated in the late 1970's - early 1980's. The control equipment is outdated and is largely no longer available. These historic elevators are the only two that service 4th floor and attic area. One of the elevators is currently down and unrepairable due to lack of replacement parts.
DISCUSSION:
This is part of the approved prioritized projects on the capital plan. The attached agreement will modernize the entire elevator system on the historic side and bring it up to the most current standard. By leveraging our current vendor and the national cooperative agreement as we have done with the tower project, we have a discounted price of $656,500.00 for the proposal. We anticipate 20 weeks for manufacturing time and 13 weeks per car to perform the work.

None.
IMPACT ON BUDGET:
$656,500.00 with a contingency of 5% for change orders
IMPACT ON FACILITIES:
Facilities will be the contract administrator
IMPACT ON TECHNOLOGY:
None.
