BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
The Office of the Genesee County Sheriff requests approval to enter into an Agreement for Enforcement Services with the Charter Township of Fenton to provide law enforcement and police protection services for the term commencing October 1, 2026, through September 30, 2027. The estimated basic cost of these services is not to exceed $1,035,360.00, to be paid by the Charter Township of Fenton.
BACKGROUND:
The Charter Township of Fenton has requested that the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office provide dedicated police protection services, patrol, traffic enforcement, and ordinance enforcement within township boundaries. Under this agreement, the Sheriff agrees to assign six (6) full-time police deputies and 60% of a Detective Sergeant to Fenton Township.

The Charter Township of Fenton shall reimburse the County for the cost of performing all services covered under this agreement, estimated at an amount not to exceed $1,035,360.00, including salaries, wages, benefits, court time, overtime, indirect costs, and motor pool expenses.
