BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
The Genesee County Metropolitan Planning Commission is recommending the Board of Commissioners approve the Fiscal Year 2027 Rideshare Contract and authorize Derek Bradshaw to sign the contract.
BACKGROUND:
Every year, the Genesee County Metropolitan Planning Commission (GCMPC) receives federal funding to administer a Rideshare Program in Genesee and Lapeer Counties. A contract between GCMPC and the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) for $50,000 in federal funds is attached. A purchase order will be submitted when the contract is approved. Work items include maintaining the Rideshare participant match database, outreach, and marketing materials.
DISCUSSION:
Genesee County Metropolitan Planning Commission is requesting that the Genesee County Board of Commissioners approve the attached contract and give approval for Derek Bradshaw to sign the contract. This approval will allow for work on this program to continue in FY 2027.
IMPACT ON HUMAN RESOURCES:
This is an existing program that will be continued into FY 2027. There is no impact on HR.
IMPACT ON BUDGET:
The contract is for $50,000 in federal funding to implement the Rideshare program. This funding is included in the GCMPC budget.
IMPACT ON FACILITIES:
No impact on facilities.
IMPACT ON TECHNOLOGY:
No impact on technology.
CONFORMITY TO COUNTY PRIORITIES:
This project serves Genesee County’s priorities of Healthy, Livable, and Safe Communities by promoting environmental stewardship and enhancing public health. Ridesharing reduces the number of vehicles on roadways, and as a result, lessens the amount of potentially harmful emissions released into the environment.
