BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
The Genesee County Community Action Resource Department (GCCARD) requests authorization from this committee to accept and expend the Water Residential Assistance Program (WRAP) grant award in the amount of $33,500.00, with a recommendation of approval by the full Genesee County Board of Commissioners at their next regularly scheduled meeting.
BACKGROUND:
GCCARD has received notice of a Fiscal Year 27 (FY27) WRAP grant award in the amount of $33,500.00 from the Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA). These funds will be used for the purpose of providing water utility arrearage assistance and conservation measures to eligible residents within the City of Flint.
DISCUSSION:
Funds provided through the WRAP grant will be used for monthly water arrearage payments up to $1,200 per fiscal year and/or provide water conservation measures for eligible households within the City of Flint for the period commencing July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027.
IMPACT ON HUMAN RESOURCES:
There will be no impact on Human Resources.
IMPACT ON BUDGET:
GCCARD will work with Fiscal Services to incorporate FY27 WRAP grant funds into the budget. A budget amendment for FYE 2026 is attached. No general fund dollars are being requested.
IMPACT ON FACILITIES:
There will be no impact on facilities.
IMPACT ON TECHNOLOGY:
There will be no impact on technology.
