BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Request approval of resolution to adopt the 2023 Apportionment Report
BACKGROUND:
The Apportionment Report is prepared annually and contains information relative to the Taxable Value, Millage Rates, Special Assessments, etc. levied within each Township and City in Genesee County.
DISCUSSION:
There will be a script provided by legal counsel to follow during the meeting. There are a couple of proposals on the November ballot, that if passed would be levied on the 2023 winter tax bills: 1) Grand Blanc Township - Police Services Millage replacement of 1.5 mills and 2) Goodrich Area Schools Sinking Fund Millage of 1 mill. If any of these millages are passed it will be brought back to this BOC and the Apportionment Report will be amended to reflect the changes. There will also be revised Special Assessment totals supplied by local units, which is normal for this process, and will require amendments to the Apportionment Report.
