RE: Approval of a proposed amendment to the 2025-2026 Appropriation Resolution reallocating expenditures within the Community Engagement and Justice Services budget
recommendation
BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Approval of a proposed amendment to the 2025-2026 Appropriation Resolution reallocating expenditures within the Community Corrections budget.
BACKGROUND:
The FY26 Application Plan was approved by the State-OCC and this Board as noted via RES-2025-2726. Genesee County Community Engagement and Justice Services (GCCEJS) request to reallocate expenditures within the budget to appropriately accommodate program service projections for the remainder of the fiscal year.
DISCUSSION:
GCCEJS submitted a budget adjustment request (BAR – Attached) to the State-OCC to be able to zero out the 2025-2026 budget appropriately.
As noted on the attached BAR, $1,000 was requested to be decreased from programs, specifically substance use testing, as other testing accommodations have been sought that are free of charge, $5,100.00 was decreased from administration, salary/wages, $500 was decreased from board expenses and $2,400 was decreased from equipment.
These decreases will allow for a $7,000 increase to the Opioid Meth Specific Program service offered through Tri-Cap to accommodate the increase of enrollments and will allow for a $2,000 increase to training under administration for staff to attend the upcoming NAPSA conference.
GCCEJS received BAR approval from the State-OCC on August 7, 2026 (Amended Expenditure Report Attached). Genesee County Account numbers detailing these changes are attached.
