BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Approval of a new one-month contract with a senior millage budget amendment between Genesee County and Binson's-Valley Supplemental Staffing, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $65,000.00 to provide In-Home Personal Care and Homemaking Services for eligible Genesee County seniors from September 1st through September 30th; the cost for this contract will be paid from account 2231-691.00-883.039.
BACKGROUND:
A new service provider has been chosen to provide In-Home Personal Care and Homemaking Services along with another current provider (Alternatively Elderly Care, LLC). The other current agency (Family Services Agency of Mid-Michigan) and the new provider need this time to transition the clients without disrupting or stopping services. FSA's contract will end for this service on September 30, 2025. The funding will come from the fund balance and not exceed $65,000 for the transition month.
DISCUSSION:
Binson's is a for-profit service provider that receives funding from the senior millage to provide quality services and programs to Genesee County Senior Citizens aged 60 and older within the community.
