TO THE HONORABLE CHAIRPERSON AND MEMBERS OF THE GENESEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS, GENESEE COUNTY, MICHIGAN
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN:
WHEREAS, Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities represent a diverse population encompassing cultures, languages, and histories from across Asia and the Pacific Islands; and
WHEREAS, AAPI individuals have made significant contributions to the social, economic, educational, and civic development of communities throughout the United States, including Genesee County; and
WHEREAS, Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month provides an opportunity to honor the achievements, resilience, and cultural heritage of AAPI communities; and
WHEREAS, recognizing the diversity within Genesee County helps promote understanding, inclusion, and mutual respect among all residents.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that this Board of County Commissioners of Genesee County, Michigan, hereby recognizes May 2026 as Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month in Genesee County.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Board encourages residents to learn about and celebrate the contributions of Asian American and Pacific Islander communities.
