RE: Approval of the reappointment of Dr. John Bechinski as Genesee County's Deputy Medical Examiner
BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Approval of the reappointment of Dr. John Bechinski as Genesee County’s Deputy Medical Examiner for an additional 4-year term.
BACKGROUND:
The Board of County Commissioners is responsible for appointing a medical examiner for Genesee County. The Board is also responsible for appointing a deputy. These appointments are 4-year terms. Dr. Bechinski’s term expires this year.
DISCUSSION:
A medical examiner is required by MCL 52.201. Dr. Bechinski has served in this position since 2016. He wishes to be reappointed.

There will be no impact on HR.

This is a budgeted position.

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN:
BE IT RESOLVED, by this Board of County Commissioners of Genesee County, Michigan, that John A. Bechinski, D.O., is reappointed to the position of Genesee County Deputy Medical Examiner, such reappointment being for the period commencing January 16, 2026, through January 15, 2030.
