RE: Approval of a proposed amendment to the 2023-2024 Appropriations Resolution transferring funds to Capital Projects Fund

BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
The Office of Fiscal Services is requesting the attached budget amendments to update the fiscal year ending September 30, 2024 budget.
BACKGROUND:
There were savings due to not renewing the lease for the City of Davison out county court. We are requesting to transfer these funds to the capital project fund as was discussed during the capital plan presentation.
DISCUSSION:
The attached amendment is required to transfer the funds from General Fund to the Capital Projects Fund.

The attached amendment will adjust various line items in General Fund to allow for a transfer to the Capital Projects Fund.

CONFORMITY TO COUNTY PRIORITIES:
The savings from consolidation of this out county court will reduce our overall facility costs which is in line with the long-term financial stability priority.

TO THE HONORABLE CHAIRPERSON AND MEMBERS OF THE GENESEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS, GENESEE COUNTY, MICHIGAN
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN:
BE IT RESOLVED, by this Board of County Commissioners of Genesee County, Michigan, that the request by the Chief Financial Officer to authorize a budget amendment to the FY24 budget, said amendment being fully described in the memorandum request, is approved (a copy of the memorandum request and supporting documents being on file with the official records of the October 11, 2023 meeting of the Finance Committee of this Board), and the Chief Financial Officer is directed to make the budget adjustments, as needed, to effectuate this resolution.
