RE: Purchase Order for 2024 Elections Ballot

BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Approval of a purchase order for purchasing ballots for elections to be conducted in 2024
BACKGROUND:
In 2024 there will be at least 3 countywide elections (2024 Presidential Primary in Feb, 2024 Primary Election in Aug, and 2024 General Election in November). With the possibility of a special election in May of 2024 if municipalities or school districts so choose.
DISCUSSION:
Each of these elections will require the use of paper ballots, to be provided by the Genesee County Clerk's Office. PSI (Printing Systems, Inc) is a state approved vendor for Ballot printing that has a long-standing relationship with Genesee County.
IMPACT ON HUMAN RESOURCES:
No impact on HR.
IMPACT ON BUDGET:
This is a budgeted expense. We are requesting a purchase order of $338,000.00 to come out of account 1010-215.00-900.008 for FY24.

CONFORMITY TO COUNTY PRIORITIES:
This is a statutory requirement of the Office of the County Clerk. In fulfilling our statutory duty in the most fiscally responsible way possible we are conforming to all 4 of the county priorities.

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN:
