Ratification of PCOA Collective Bargaining Agreement
BACKGROUND:
A tentative agreement has been reached with PCOA.
DISCUSSION:
The tentative agreement is now before the Board of Commissioners for ratification.
IMPACT ON HUMAN RESOURCES:
Implementation and administration of the terms and conditions of the new agreement. Preparing the new agreement document and obtaining signatures.
IMPACT ON BUDGET:
Within guidelines established by the Board of Commissioners for the 2025 negotiations

CONFORMITY TO COUNTY PRIORITIES:
Long Term Financial Stability - Negotiation of this contract is within the financial guidelines set by the Board of Commissioners. Providing a fair and robust collective bargaining agreement to employees helps retain and recruit individuals. Reducing turnover and improving longevity of employment provides stability and lessens the cost of turnover.

TO THE HONORABLE CHAIRPERSON AND MEMBERS OF THE GENESEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS, GENESEE COUNTY, MICHIGAN
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN:
WHEREAS, Genesee County representatives have negotiated a proposed Tentative Agreement with the Professional Court Officers Association bargaining unit, represented by TPOAM, the changed or additional provisions of said Tentative Agreement being on file with the official records of the February 12, 2025 meeting of this Board of Commissioners.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this Board of County Commissioners of Genesee County, Michigan, that the aforesaid Tentative Agreement as negotiated by the Genesee County representatives is hereby approved and ratified, the Chairperson of this Board is authorized and directed to sign the Agreement document for and on behalf of Genesee County, Michigan, and the Director of Administrat...
