BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Acceptance of the 2026 CSRUV Responsive Services for Victims of Crime grant from Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS).
BACKGROUND:
The CSRUV previously known as the VOCA grant has been awarded to the Sheriff's Office since 2018. This grant allows the Sheriff's Office to expand its Elder Abuse Task Force by establishing victim focused positions that work hand in hand with investigators, APS, financial institutions and other entities making referrals for suspicion of elder abuse. This grant is pivotal in our task forces success and is one of only few given to a law enforcement agency across the state. The focus of the program is to expand and strengthen culturally specific and culturally responsive victim services for underserved survivors of crime by supporting expanding services for organizations with prior experience in serving victims of crime and managing federal and state funding to serve those victims.
