BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Approval to create, post and fill one (1) Lead Community Health Liaison position
BACKGROUND:
Healthy Start functions to reduce infant and maternal mortality through health education and promotion. Genesee County Health Department was awarded $997,416 per year from 5/1/24 through 3/31/29.
DISCUSSION:
This role will assist in strengthening the effectiveness and impact of the Healthy Start program by providing training, mentorship, coordination, and support to community health liaisons while ensuring that families receive high-quality services. This position helps to bridge the gap between families, healthcare providers, and community resources to improve maternal and infant health outcomes while contributing to positive community and economic growth. No additional County Appropriation is required.
IMPACT ON HUMAN RESOURCES:
Human Resources will be needed to post and fill the position and facilitate all other hiring requirements.
IMPACT ON BUDGET:
This position has been budgeted for grant cycle 2024 through 2029 to be paid from account 2211-607.01-702.000 and related fringe accounts.
IMPACT ON FACILITIES:
No expected impact on facilities.
IMPACT ON TECHNOLOGY:
Information Technology support will be needed to assist with the set-up of electronic devices (laptop, phone, access to program databases, etc).
