BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
The Court is requesting approval of contract amendment and extension for Multi-Systemic Therapy and anger management/trauma group therapy with Genesee Health System for the period commencing October 1, 2025 - September 30, 2026, in an amount not to exceed $340,000, to be paid from accounts 2920-663.06-801.004 and 2920-664.00-801.001. These services are part of the approval child care fund annual plan and budget for FY 2025-26.
BACKGROUND:
The Family Division of the Circuit Court has partnered with Genesee Health System since 2004 to provide MST and related mental health services to court-involved youth. The MST team must be licensed to provide the MST services and must participate in annual training and quarterly coaching sessions to maintain fidelity to the evidence-based model. GHS will provide additional group therapy services focused on anger management and trauma-based services, for those youth deemed eligible for which such group therapy treatment(s) may be beneficial.
DISCUSSION:
MST is an evidence-based juvenile delinquency therapy model that helps youth and their families to function responsibly over the long term. MST reduces juvenile delinquency and antisocial behavior by addressing the core causes of such conduct, and addresses the client as a network of systems including family, peers, school, and neighborhood/environment.
