TO THE HONORABLE CHAIRPERSON AND MEMBERS OF THE GENESEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS, GENESEE COUNTY, MICHIGAN
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN:
WHEREAS, mental health is a critical component of overall health and well-being, affecting individuals, families, and communities across Genesee County; and
WHEREAS, mental health conditions are common and can affect people of all ages, backgrounds, and socioeconomic statuses; and
WHEREAS, Mental Health Awareness Month provides an opportunity to reduce stigma, promote understanding, and encourage individuals to seek support and treatment when needed; and
WHEREAS, local providers, advocates, schools, and community organizations play an essential role in expanding access to mental health resources and education.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that this Board of County Commissioners of Genesee County, Michigan, hereby recognizes May 2026 as Mental Health Awareness Month in Genesee County.
BE IT FURTHUR RESOLVED, that this Board encourages residents to support efforts that improve mental health awareness, access to care, and community well-being.
