RE: Approval of the 2027 Air Quality Awareness Contract between the Genesee County Metropolitan Planning Commission (GCMPC) and the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT)

BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
The Genesee County Metropolitan Planning Commission is requesting the Board of Commissioners approve the Fiscal Year 2027 Air Quality Awareness Contract and authorize Derek Bradshaw to sign the contract.
BACKGROUND:
Every year, the Genesee County Metropolitan Planning Commission (GCMPC) receives federal funding to administer an Air Quality Awareness Program in Genesee and Lapeer Counties. A contract between GCMPC and the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) for $50,000 in federal funds is attached. Air Quality Awareness revenue funding is included in the FY 2027 GCMPC budget. Work items include the development and dissemination of educational and promotional materials, and outreach to municipalities, businesses, and schools regarding air quality awareness.
DISCUSSION:
Genesee County Metropolitan Planning Commission is requesting that the Genesee County Board of Commissioners approve the attached contract to allow for work to continue this program in FY 2027.
IMPACT ON HUMAN RESOURCES:
This is an existing program that will be continued into FY 2027. There is no impact on HR.
IMPACT ON BUDGET:
The contract is for $50,000 in federal funding to implement the Air Quality Awareness program. This funding is included in the GCMPC budget.
IMPACT ON FACILITIES:
No impact on facilities.
IMPACT ON TECHNOLOGY:
No impact on technology.
