BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Request to approve additional funding from Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) for various local public health programs in total amount of $74,480.
BACKGROUND:
Request to approve additional funding from Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) for various local public health programs.
DISCUSSION:
The purpose of this project is to support LHDs' ability to assess risk and prepare communities for emerging health threats impacting their jurisdiction. The funding can be used for targeted outreach to vulnerable communities and to support response to address emerging environmental health threats, and to educate the community and prepare for the fall 2025 respiratory season.
IMPACT ON HUMAN RESOURCES:
The employees involved in these programs will continue to require the same human resources that they've been receiving. There are no additional resources needed at this time.
IMPACT ON BUDGET:
This is a budgeted item.
IMPACT ON FACILITIES:
The employees involved in these programs will continue to use the same facilities that are currently being using.
IMPACT ON TECHNOLOGY:
The employees involved in these programs will continue to use the same technology that they have been using.
CONFORMITY TO COUNTY PRIORITIES:
By providing these services, the Health Department is promoting health & safety with the necessary services through programs including Immunizations, Environmental Health, and Community outreach.
