BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Authorization to accept grant funding through the MSP-EMHSD in the amount of $18,507.00, to support the Critical Incident Mapping for the McLaren Hospital in Genesee County, MI.
BACKGROUND:
The funding will support development of emergency response mapping for the McLaren Hospital. Any remaining project costs beyond the awarded grant amount will be the responsibility of the individual facility.
DISCUSSION:
Genesee County uses critical incident mapping to give first responders detailed, site-specific maps of critical buildings. These maps show interior layouts, entry points, and key utilities, helping responders quickly navigate during emergencies. The system is already in place across county schools and is integrated with 911 dispatch and responder devices, improving real-time coordination and situational awareness. The new project extends this same capability to hospitals, ensuring emergency personnel have equally detailed information for healthcare facilities.
