BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Seek approval to accept the Michigan Department of Corrections-Office of Community Corrections Comprehensive Plans and Services contract for FY 2025, in the amount of $617,683.00. The contract has now been provided to Genesee County for final acceptance and signature.
BACKGROUND:
Genesee County's Fiscal Year 2025 P.A. 511 Comprehensive Plan was approved for funding by the Michigan Department of Corrections-Office of Community Corrections (MDOC-OCC). Genesee County's Community Corrections administration and programming funding for FY2025, under its P.A. 511 Comprehensive Plans and Services contract, is $617,683.00. The funding is divided among two general program areas and comprehensive plan administration. The funding allocations by general program areas and plan administration are: General Plans and Services: $458,000; ? Plan Administration: $159,683; The MDOC-OCC allocation was the result of a Genesee County FY 2025 Comprehensive Corrections plan application. The application was approved for submission by the Genesee County Board of Commissioners on May 22, 2024 (Reso # 2024-488). We were awarded an increase of $58,472.00 this fiscal year compared to last fiscal year. However, we were not granted the original request of $631,000.00.
DISCUSSION:
The Office of Community Corrections received official notice that our grant request was approved with an amended amount by the Michigan Department of Corrections. The contract has now been provided to Genesee County for final acceptance and signature.
