BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Requesting approval to create, post, and fill a Housing Rehabilitation Specialist II position in the GCMPC Home Improvement Program.
BACKGROUND:
The Genesee County Metropolitan Planning Commission Home Improvement Program carries out housing rehabilitation services to eligible homeowners throughout Genesee County, outside the City of Flint. The program provides whole-house health and safety rehabilitation services as well as urgent repairs. Staff is requesting approval to create a Housing Rehabilitation Specialist II position to create a promotional opportunity for a very experienced current employee. With the creation of this position, we will be eliminating a Housing Rehabilitation I position.
DISCUSSION:
The creation and posting of this position will help keep experienced employees and provide continuity in programming as we look to expand services during the fiscal year.

This project is funded by grant funds from the Department of Housing and Urban Development. This project has no impact on the general fund.

Computer setup and providing network access.
CONFORMITY TO COUNTY PRIORITIES:
This project conforms to the county goal of Healthy, Livable, and Safe Communities. This position carries out inspection services to stabilize housing with health and safety upgrades, providing a more livable and safe environment for County residents.
