BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office requests approval to enter into an agreement with Genesee Health System to provide law enforcement services, traffic enforcement, emergency preparedness planning, training and Mental health crisis co-response for the term of October 1, 2026, through September 30, 2027. The estimated basic cost of these services is not to exceed $516,503.00, to be paid by Genesee Health System.
BACKGROUND:
The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office has been called upon by Genesee Health System to provide dedicated policing services and assist with emergency preparedness plans and training within their jurisdiction. In addition to this we have created two co-response teams both including GHS social workers who respond to mental health crisis calls throughout Genesee County. Under this agreement, the County and Sheriff agree to assign two (2) certified police Sergeants and one (1) police deputy to Genesee Health System.

Genesee Health System shall reimburse the County for all basic costs of performing services under this agreement, estimated not to exceed $516,503.00, including salaries, wages, benefits, indirect costs, and court/overtime costs incurred.
