BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Award a contract to Newkirk Electric Associates, Inc., as the lowest responsive bidder for providing and installing network drops in the Genesee County Legal Resource Center, along with wireless expansion for the building, in the amount of $60,747. The vendor that did submit the lowest price did not produce the required license to perform the work.
BACKGROUND:
RFP 24-403 was published for installing network drops in the Genesee County Legal Resource Center and for wireless expansion for the building.
DISCUSSION:
Expanding the wireless access in the Courthouse is necessary to support operational requirements for the Genesee County Legal Resource Center, Legal Records Division, Prosecutor and other Courthouse users. Genesee County IT mapped the Courthouse to find zones that were below standards for the transmission of data. This information formed the basis for the wireless expansion. The data drops in the Legal Resource Center are required to support staff and public users.

IMPACT ON BUDGET:
The cost of this contract is $60,747.00 and is to be paid from 4960-255.06-975.007. No additional county appropriation is required.
IMPACT ON FACILITIES:
The project is an upgrade that benefits Courthouse users and court operations.
IMPACT ON TECHNOLOGY:
Upgrades wireless expansion and supports low voltage operations for a variety of locations.
CONFORMITY TO COUNTY PRIORITIES:
Promotes data-based decisions and planning; expands the role of the county as a convener to enhance relationships that contribute to the growth of our community.
