RE: Approval to increase Resolution #2024-997 and Resolution #2024-996, for the budgeted drugs and pharmaceutical purchases and medical supply purchases with various vendors, which will exceed $10,000 over the course of 24-25 fiscal year
recommendation
BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Board approval and referral by the Health Officer to the appropriate committee of the Board of Commissioners.
BACKGROUND:
In previous years, the Genesee County Health Department has requested pre-approval for drugs/pharmaceutical and medical supply purchases to be proactive in time management and cost saving. Many of our drugs/pharmaceutical purchases are mandatory immunizations. Resolutions 2024-997 and 2024-996 were passed on September 18, 2024 to approve drugs and pharmaceuticals and medical supply purchases with various vendors used at the Health Department. The resolutions are now in need of budget increases.
DISCUSSION:
The vendors listed are members of the Minnesota Multistate Contracting Alliance for Pharmacy (MMCAP) or Apexus. The Health Department is able to purchase medical supplies through these vendors at a reduced cost creating cost savings.
IMPACT ON HUMAN RESOURCES:
There will be no impact on Human Resources.
IMPACT ON BUDGET:
Listed amounts are within the Health Departments budgeted programs and/or received grant funding. Total increase requested is $240,200.00.
