BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Approval of a Purchase Order to Huron Valley Guns per provided quote dated 11/20/2025 for the purchase of Qty 192 Tactical Pants and Uniform Shirts (Short and Long Sleeve), including the sewing of department-issued badges onto shirts* for the coverage and protection of our Road Patrol and all Certified deputies in the amount of $40,416.00 to be paid from the Byrne Community Project fund (1010-316.01-978.000)
BACKGROUND:
Referencing Res-2025-2476 (included in attachments) for the CMP Vests approved, the specified uniforms that work with these vests is part of the approved Byrne purchase, which will be paid from the remaining $43K in said grant. Approval of the specialized uniforms from Huron Valley Guns will provide 3x each per employee.
DISCUSSION:
Per the POAM Labor Agreement: Section 22.4 - Uniforms and Equipment the County shall furnish and maintain such uniforms and equipment as the Sheriff and the County shall determine is necessary, subject to reasonable rules for preservation, use and care of such uniforms and equipment as may be established by the Sheriff from time to time. To the extent consistent with budget constraints, the County will endeavor to provide replacement shirts and pants in a fashion sufficient to enable employees to maintain appearance standards.
