BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Approval to apply for County Veteran Service Fund (CVSF) Grant for FY26 from the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency in the amount of $96,720.
BACKGROUND:
The CVSF grants from the State of Michigan provide funding to counties to support their veterans' services.
DISCUSSION:
CVSF grants are intended to help counties establish or enhance programs that connect veterans with benefits and resources. Counties must submit a Letter of Intent and applications outlining how the grant will be utilized.
IMPACT ON HUMAN RESOURCES:
None.
IMPACT ON BUDGET:
Genesee County Veterans Services is requesting $96,720 for FY26. This amount will supplement current programs and be added to the budget.
IMPACT ON FACILITIES:
None.
IMPACT ON TECHNOLOGY:
None.
CONFORMITY TO COUNTY PRIORITIES:
The department has received the grant in past years. It helps to ensure the long-term financial stability of the department to fund programs such as Vets to Wellness, Advertising, and our Armed Forces Resource Rally.
