recommendation
BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Genesee County Medical Examiner's Office requests authorization to enter into a one year contract, with 4 one year extensions with Community Care Ambulance from February 28th, 2024 to September 30, 2029, in the amount not to exceed $27,000.00 for FY 24/25, FY 25/26 not to exceed $30,000, FY 26/27 not to exceed $32,500, FY 27/28 not to exceed 34,700 and FY 28/29 not to exceed $38,500 the cost of this agreement will be paid from 1010-648.00-801.000. Funds for FY 24/25 are currently in our budget and a budget amendment is not necessary.
BACKGROUND:
The Medical Examiner's Office is in the process of moving away from a third-party contractor for death scene investigations and making the investigators direct contractors for the County. The agreement with the third-party contractor for death scene investigators also had dispatching services included, now a standalone dispatch contract is needed. A request for proposal (RFP 24-419) properly submitted through the purchasing department for this service yielded two bids. After careful consideration we believe that the bid from Community Care Ambulance best aligns with our budget and needs.
