BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Authorization to accept and expend a grant from Region 3 (LETPA) State Homeland Security Program for the purchase of an underwater JW Fishers SeaLion-3 ROV. The cost shall not exceed $54,450.00. The approved Sealed Bid #25-435 estimate EST02-0191 was received from vendor Dive Rescue International (once the grant is accepted) in the amount of $48,808 to be paid from account 2830-426.00-978.000. This grant fully covers the cost of this purchase
BACKGROUND:
This grant will allow the Genesee County Sheriff's Office to purchase a SeaLion-3 ROV with cameras and 2 monitors, operating depth 1,000 ft, 250 feet of cable, a manipulator arm and spare parts kit at no cost to the county. The equipment will be used by the Dive team and Marine Division to locate individuals and property underwater in Genesee County lakes and rivers.
DISCUSSION:
The GCOS in coordination with Purchasing regulations have already obtained the sealed bid quote which you will find attached to this request, along with the supporting grantor documentation of approval for the dollar amount award and expenditure.

No County general funds will be utilized for this purchase, as this is a request to accept grant dollars, in which the account to pay from is 2830-426.00-978.000.
