BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Approval of ARPA Funding Re-Allocation of $590,000 from project savings to continue funding of ARPA positions for Court backlog through 12/31/26
BACKGROUND:
ARPA Funds can be spent on projects that were obligated on or prior to 12/31/24.
DISCUSSION:
There have been savings from ARPA projects that came in below the projected cost. The ARPA funds can be re-allocated to other ARPA projects that were obligated by 12/31/24. We are requesting to utilize these project savings to fund the ARPA positions through 12/31/26 which is the deadline for spending of ARPA funds. Resolution 2025-2590 had approved for the case investigators to be paid from General Fund. This resolution would allow us to revert those costs back to the ARPA grant through 12/31/26.
IMPACT ON HUMAN RESOURCES:
These projects will have no impact on Human Resources.
IMPACT ON BUDGET:
These projects will be funded by Genesee County American Rescue Plan Act funding and will have no impact on the fund balance of general fund. A budget amendment for the remainder of FYE 2026 is attached to this request.
IMPACT ON FACILITIES:
There will be no impact on County facilities.
IMPACT ON TECHNOLOGY:
There will be no impact on County technology.
CONFORMITY TO COUNTY PRIORITIES:
These projects conform to the Genesee County Priority of Healthy, Livable, and Safe communities' priority.
