BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Acceptance of the Genesee County Sheriff's Office and FLOCK Safety contract to provide hardware and software products for 20 FLOCK Safety Falcon Cameras through 9/30/2025. The contract extension is for a 1-year term from October 1, 2024, through September 30, 2025.
BACKGROUND:
FLOCK Safety is an integrated public safety platform that detects, centralizes, and decodes actionable evidence to increase safety, improve efficiency, and connect the community. Flock Safety Falcon (r) Law enforcement grade infrastructure-free (solar power + LTE) license plate recognition camera with Vehicle Fingerprint (tm) technology (proprietary machine learning software) and real-time alerts for unlimited users.
DISCUSSION:
The grant agreement from Michigan State Police, presented in RESO # 2024-1058, covers the cost of this contract.
IMPACT ON HUMAN RESOURCES:
None
IMPACT ON BUDGET:
The contract extension cost is $60,000.00, covered by the accepted grant agreement with MSP RESO # 2024-1058. This is a budgeted expense to be reimbursed 60% by grant funds and 40% county match. No additional appropriation is needed. This will be billed to account #2856-310.00-801.000.
