TO THE HONORABLE CHAIRPERSON AND MEMBERS OF THE GENESEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS, GENESEE COUNTY, MICHIGAN
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN:
WHEREAS, pursuant to MCL 168.24a, a four-member board of county canvassers is established in every county in this state, whereby all of the powers granted to and duties required by law to be performed by boards of canvassers, other than the board of state canvassers, are granted to and required to be performed by the board of county canvassers; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to MCL 168.24c, this Board of County Commissioners of Genesee County, Michigan (this "Board"), is authorized to elect, by ballot, appointees to the board of county canvassers; and
WHEREAS, any one (1) political party shall not be represented by more than two (2) members on the board of county canvassers at any time, thereby requiring this Board to appoint one (1) member from each political party at this time; and
WHEREAS, this Board has received written recommendations from the chairperson of the Democratic congressional district committee of three (3) individuals for consideration to serve on the board of county canvassers.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that this Board hereby reappoints Sharon Reeves to serve on the board of county canvassers for a term of four (4) years commencing November 1, 2025, through October 31, 2029, having found that Ms. Reeves satisfies the requirements set by this Board's Appointment Policy 0...
