BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
The Genesee County Metropolitan Planning Commission is recommending that the Genesee County Community and Economic Development committee provide approval for staff to begin the 63-day public comment period for the Genesee: Our County, Our Future Master Plan.
BACKGROUND:
The Genesee County Metropolitan Planning Commission has been working on the development of a County-wide Master Plan document over the last 18 months. The plan focuses on areas including transportation, community development, environment, land use, and progress towards county priorities. Staff has completed a draft version of the document for your review and comment. DISCUSSION:
Please send all comments, questions, and/or concerns to GCMPC staff at gcmpc@geneseecountymi.gov. Comments will be accepted from December 22nd, 2025, to February 23rd, 2026. There will be three public input events held during this period. Staff will review and consider all comments received.

A robust Master Plan will provide not only resources and a guide to utilize for planning at the County level, but also a resource for all our local units of government when considering changes in their communities for the years to come.
