BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Genesee County Parks and Recreation staff requests the approval to dispose of a capital asset over $30,000.

BACKGROUND:
The Genesee Belle Paddlewheel Riverboat at Crossroads Village & Huckleberry Railroad was purchased in 1994, brand new from Skipperliner Industries, Inc., through an Invitation to Bid advertised by the Genesee County Purchasing Department.

The asset has been out of service for years due to it generating a financial loss.

DISCUSSION:
Selling the asset will prevent further losses, optimize the use of resources, reduce exposure to future uncertainties and provide stability to Crossroads Village.

The asset will be sold in accordance with Genesee County Purchasing Policy methods.

IMPACT ON TECHNOLOGY:
None.

TO THE HONORABLE CHAIRPERSON AND MEMBERS OF THE GENESEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS, GENESEE COUNTY, MICHIGAN

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN:

BE IT RESOLVED, by this Board of County Commissioners of Genesee County, Michigan, that the request by the Parks and Recreation Director to authorize disposal of the Genesee Belle Paddlewheel Riverboat, a capital asset, in accordance with Genesee County Purchasing Policy methods, is approved (a copy of the memorandum request being on file with the official records of the April 16, 2025 meeting of the Finance Committee of this Board).
