BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
The Office of the Genesee County Sheriff is requesting approval for a FY 25/26 purchase order for Aramark for annual food and commissary services to the inmates housed at the Genesee County Jail in the amount of $925,000.00 as has been approved from budget line item 1010-351.00-762.000. (Budget approval through Fiscal*)
BACKGROUND:
Aramark was previously approved to provide these services in May 2025 via Res-2025-1732; with contractual approval and provision through June 30, 2026
DISCUSSION:
**Due to the current Contract approval for services between Genesee County and Aramark continuing through June 30, 2026, the request will be for the blanket PO for 10/1/2025-6/30/2026, pending any additional approval of services that extend through the FY-end of 9/30/2026 which will be re-visited later in the fiscal year. **

$925,000.00 (Total food budget as approved through Fiscal*) from the Corrections Food Account 1010-351.00-762.000 for FY 25/26.

This request conforms to both the Healthy, Livable & Safe Communities by utilizing a vendor who promotes public health to create safer and healthier residents (of the Jail*) along with Long-term Financial Stability addressing legacy costs with a plan that values people while creating savings.
