Approval of an update to the Genesee County Purchasing Policy

DISCUSSION:
Purchasing requested that the Purchasing Policy be updated to align with various changes that were made via individual resolutions. Such changes included signature and RFP requirement threshold, department names, language to align with prevailing wage legislation at the State level, and other minor grammatical changes.

TO THE HONORABLE CHAIRPERSON AND MEMBERS OF THE GENESEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS, GENESEE COUNTY, MICHIGAN
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN:
BE IT RESOLVED by the Genesee County Board of Commissioners that the request of the Purchasing Department, a division of the Office of Fiscal Services, to amend and restate the Purchasing Policy Regulations to align with various changes that were made via individual resolutions and for compliance with updates to state and federal law is approved (a copy of the updated Purchasing Regulations being on file with the January 24, 2024 meeting materials of the Governmental Operations committee of this Board).
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that upon adoption of this Policy, the Genesee County Board of Commissioners authorizes the Office of Fiscal Services Chief Financial Officer to establish procedures which may be necessary for implementation and to delegate the implementation of said procedures to the County Purchasing Department.
