recommendation
BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
The Genesee County Community Action Resource Department (GCCARD) requests authorization from this committee to approve the 2023-2024 contract between Jewish Community Services (JCS) and GCCARD's Nutrition Services Program, along with a Purchase Order (PO) to JCS for the provision of Kosher Congregate and Home Delivered Meals, with a recommendation of approval by the full Genesee County Board of Commissioners at their next regularly scheduled meeting.
BACKGROUND:
For nearly two decades, JCS has partnered with GCCARD to provide Kosher Congregate and Home Delivered Meals. JCS is GCCARD's sole approved vendor for Kosher meals. A PO will allow GCCARD to provide Kosher meals for the Home Delivered Meal program and Congregate meal sites to eligible seniors in Genesee County.
DISCUSSION:
The contract with JCS is funded through the Genesee County Senior Millage and Valley Area Agency on Aging. The PO to JCS is for the term October 01, 2023, through September 30, 2024, with funds available as per GCCARD's approved FY 2023-2024 budget and will be drawn from the VAAA-Congregate fund 2731-697.16-634.009, the VAAA-Mobile Meals fund 2731-697.15-634.009, and the Millage-Mobile Meals fund 2733-697.15-762.000.
